We are looking for a proactive Buyer for our newly established factory in Seremban, Sendayan Techvalley for underground loading & hauling equipment.
Your primary areas of responsibility. Do we share the same mission?
- Day to day operational buying process and monitoring supplier performance (purchase order release, confirmation, fulfilment, and administration)
- ERP parameter maintenance within given framework
- Resolve inbound discrepancies
- Support supply chain improvement projects and work closely with other departments in the Supply Chain
- Manage and improve relationship with suppliers
- Proactively engage with suppliers to plan and implement initiatives that deliver improved availability and minimize inventory risk (forecasting, buffer stock agreements)
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate records
- Monitoring and enforcing the company's purchasing policies and procedures
- Ensure that the products and supplies are high quality
- Generate suppliers forecasts and coordinate general purchasing activities for Sandvik contract manufacturing suppliers
- Ensure that a PO is created correctly, follow up any issues related to PO creation and expedite the order status for generated PO’s
- Support the user define purchase request when needed
- Coordinate purchasing activities with Manufacturing, Planning and Engineering department to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner
- Performance report on purchases made and performing cost analyses
- Work closely with the team members and Purchasing Manager to complete duties as needed
Your background and what we find important
- Diploma or degree in relevant field or equivalent
- At least 3 years of working experience in related field preferably in manufacturing environment
- Previous experience of purchasing, inventory control, planning and purchase order (PO) processing
- Your way of working is proactive, customer oriented and you possess development-minded attitude
- Succeeding in this position requires also ability to clearly communicate ideas with internal and external stakeholders
- As we act in a global business this job requires fluent English skills
- Willing to work at Sendayan, Seremban
- Experience in supplier management is appreciated
